drill and tap
hey I just wondered how much it would probably cost to get my rifle drilled and tapped for scope mounts its a remington 510 targetmaster 22 and I have a gander mountain near me

I've never had it done but if you call Gander, Dick's sporting goods or a local gunsmith they should be able to tell you. I think it's a pretty standard service with a set rate for normal installations. I know that the last time I was in Dick's they had it listed at the gun counter but don't recall what the price was.

I have d&t'ed a lot of Rem 510s, but I am not a gunsmith.
The chart for Rem 510 says http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/lid=1...op_Mount_Bases #42 Weaver in the front and a #43 Weaver in the rear. I would suggest, instead, using two #43 mounts or bases as Brownells calls them, on the receiver.
