Favorite .357 magnum revolvers
This is just out of curiosity, but I am just wondering what some of peoples favorite revolvers are in .357 magnum.
Mine is my royal blue 6" colt python. |

Ruger Speed-Six and Security-Six Revolvers
My favorites are my Ruger Speed-Six 2 3/4" and Security-Six 4" .357 Magnum revolvers. All 4 of them fit me like gloves.

Freedom Arms '97. Best sixgun ever made. Most will out-shoot a Python.

That would still be Raquel,,,
Raquel is a 4" Colt trooper Mk-III,,,
She was a ranchers everyday gun for 30 years,,, So she shows a lot of honest finish wear,,, Every time I take her out dancing,,, She makes me smile. I also have Brighid,,, A 6" Smith & Wesson Model 686. ![]() Brighid is a lovely girl who shoots like a dream,,, But for some reason she's not my favorite,,, I think it's because of her full lug barrel,,, I like half-lug barrels a bit more. I would love to have a Colt Python 4" barrel in a deep blue.... but since I don't, I really like my Smith model 19......
And this one is REALLY fast becoming a favorite shooter of mine. One of the new Talo edition Ruger GP-100's. The 3 inch barrel makes for a sweet handling revolver and the sight set up makes her really fast to bring on target!

How about a 1966 vintage six inch Smith & Wesson model 27. It's comfortable and it's accurate. Semper Fi. Gunnery sergeant Clifford L. Hughes USMC retired |

S&W Model 19, Colt Trooper Mk III and the S&W N frames, are my favorites.
Probably the Model 19/66 is my all time favorite. I've got two a 19-2 shipped in 1965 and a 4 screw 19 no dash shipped in 1959. I wish I could find a 1955 Combat Magnum with its black case, to go with my blue cased 1956 .44 Magnum. ![]() ![]() S&W Model 19-2, shipped in 1965, with ivory magnas, the cartridges are handloaded 180 grain Nosler Partiton-HG. ![]() S&W Model 19 no dash, shipped in 1959. I need to take a better pic of it, I took this one while I was still prepping and waxing it.. The pre-Lim surface cleaner still in the lettering makes them stand out though.

I love my Python, but I have let it go into semi-retirement. Parts are becoming less common, as are Colt revolver gunsmiths
My new favorite: S&W 627 PC.

S&W 66, 4 inch for me. The M19 would be a VERY close second. Nothing else handles quite like a 4 inch K-frame for me. Nate, those M19s are just beautiful!

Raquel is sweet. Reminds me of my circa 70's 6" Trooper bought new, but alas, long gone and wishing I still had it. That Trooper was a darn good shooter. Ed |

Hello Ed Jaws,,,
I'm not really a Colt fanatic,,,
In most cases I much prefer a S&W revolver,,, I'm one of those rare people who doesn't much like the Python. But for some reason this one just Colt tickles my fancy. So much that I spent quite a bit of time finding one in .22 LR to match it. I don't dance with Raquel very often,,, But now that she's in my thoughts again,,, I might take her when I go out this cold weekend. Aarond

My favorite.357 revolver is probably my 6" Model 28-2.
![]() It's got a lot of holster wear, but it's a steady, accurate, powerful friend. Carried lots, shot not as much, it does what it is supposed to do whenever I ask it to do it. |

I still have my S&W M28, nickel finish, 6" barrel. Shows some carry wear. This was my first on duty revolver. I shot a Rape Suspect with it in 1980.

I really like the Model 66 too, I carried one a lot in the eighties. I've been wanting a another one and I almost bought one earlier this year. It was a 66-1 and like new. The dealer had gotten it in an estate sale where he bought all the guns. He wanted a very good price for it, I should have bought it on the spot. I didn't and went to another store while I thought about it. When I came back an hour later it was already gone.
