broken barrel guide on 870?

I'm new to the forum and a new shooter. I have an 870 tactical and have discovered that the finger guide in the receiver that aligns the barrel is broken. Does anyone know what I will have to do to fix this?

That is the ejector of the gun you're looking at that will have to be replaced. Occaisionally a 'smith is lucky enough to dress off the inner end of the rivits and not have to install new ones, but normally the procedure is to grind off and knock out the old rivits, then re-rivit the new part to the frame, which calls for dressing off the head of the new rivits and usually leads to re-blueing the frame. A few, of which I am one, can measure, mark, and cut the head of the rivit before installing, then the only blueing necessary is to touch up the new rivit heads. Tools are available from Brownells for the brave. Here endeth the lesson. Goatwhiskers the Elder

I have heard a Remington armorer explain the problem just as Goatwhiskers describes. It takes some finesse to save those rivits.

I did receive this very helpful info from the writer of rem870.com:

This will take some time, parts and tools but it can be fixed.
The broken part is an ejector, you will need to remove the broken one.

Here is video how my friend and I replaced one rivet and ejector spring:

You will need to remove 2 rivets, remove the broken ejector and spring.
This can be done using rivet cutter or something else.

You will need to get 2 rivets, ejector and ejector spring (not sure if the
old one will be ok).

This tool-set has good instructions included.

After the installation you will need to do something to fix shotgun
coating where new rivets are installed.
