sporting clays; what's your favorite choke combination...

used to be SK/IC now I'm using IC/LM for 90% of the time. I also shoot #8's most of the time also. Open choke on bottom, tighter choke on top. How about the rest of you!?!

I'll start a course with IC/IC and go from there; tightest I have used on stations on the same course was M/IM. Typically though, IC/M is the tightest I usually need to go

You might ask the range operators what it's designed for .In any case make sure you pattern your loads !

I've NEVER patterned a load in my life! After shooting one look-see clay or so, I know exactly where the shot is going, just by the break. Not bragging at all, "just telling it like it is!!" Didn't Howard Cossell coin that phrase!?!

I usually start Mod/Mod ...but I carry a pair of Skeet, a pair of IC and an Imp Mod and a Full ...in my vest / or on my Rugged Gear cart ...in a fishing lure box. I used to change chokes a lot ...but these days ...only when its necessary / and these days 99% of the time I'm just shooting for fun ...not many registered tournaments anymore ( my eyesight is shot ..! ) ...

But it depends on the course .../and the target presentation.

I carry 5 boxes of 8's, usually a box of 9's and a box of 7 1/2's ...as a rule ( everything loaded to 1oz at around 1225 fps in 12ga ). If I choose to shoot my 20ga --- I drop to 7/8oz loads - but with the same mix of sizes.

Skeet/Light Mod. In most situations I have to only change one choke and/or the firing order to manage the station.

Amen PJR. The more simple the better. Many shooters believe equipment breaks clays. So wrong...

Slugo , I got an Extra,Extra Full pattern with my benelli .BB steel ,MOD choke !! It would have been confusing if I hadn't patterned it !

I did OK today using 0 and 10 POC, Cylinder and IC. Usually I use 10 and 15 POC, IC and LM.
