I was in High School and wanted an 1100 after reading the ads and stories - got job in construction carrying out buckets of debris. The boss asked why I wanted the job and I said to get that 1100 that just came out - he approved and earned that 1100 and have it today and still love it above all other shotguns.

Great story!! The first time I ever shot skeet, it was a 12ga 1100, back in 1968...

When did the 11-87 come out in comparison to the 1100. Because I have a new 1100 but my 11-87 is a old one, looks just like the pic

I never could shoot an 1100, I've owned several over the years, shot a bunch more. I always thought they were wonderful shotgun, but I just couldn't hit anything with them.
I never had the money to have one fitted to me, so I always went back to my pump shotguns. Odd that I can shoot an 870, but the 1100 seems to shoot high. |

the BEST round of sporting clays I ever shot (46 out of 50) was with a black synthetic 12ga 1100...

My wife gave me a model 1100 the year we got married in 1967. 44 years later I still have the same wife and the model 1100. They both worked out really well.
