which xd 45 do I have

I bought an xd 45, I think. It looks like an xd 45 compact but it didn't come with a 10 round clip just 13 round clips and it looks like the grip is longer than the other xd 45 compacts I've seen. It has the 4 inch barrel but that's the only difference compared to a 1911 as far as size.

If it has a 4" barrel, it is a XD service and not a sub-compact.

XDs, and some other polymer frame pistols, that come in "compact" versions use a grip spacer on a full length magazine to make it fit the compact frame.

Do your 13 round magazines have a grip spacer on the bottom? If they do, you have the XD45 Compact. If you don't, you have a regular XD45 Service.

There is no XD45 subcompact.

If your 13 round mags fit without a spacer it is the service model.
