I had a good birthday
My wife, with the help of my next-door neighbor and a friend of the neighbor's at the local sporting goods store, bought me an RCBS single-stage reloading kit, powder, .45 dies, and primers. I had no idea she was going to surprise me with that gift, but I'm a happy man today!
I had mentioned I was thinking about buying the gear to get into reloading but I've always been a researcher, then a do-er. She, however, took the proverbial bull by the horns and bought me some good gear. This weekend I start on a bench (likely one of the Black and Decker Workmate space-saver benches that will double as a fly-tying bench) and hopefully by the middle of next week, I'll be reloading .45 ACP. Happy birthday to me indeed! Fish |

Happy B Day
And welcome to the hobby that actually saves, no wait cost, maybe saves, or at least allows you to shoot more for the money.

Congrats on Birthday, and a thoughtful wife. Also get yourself some load manuals, Lyman #49 for one. If you have questions, let us know. 45 ACP is generally an easy round to load for.

Happy Birthday, indeed, FS! I suspect you'll continue your research even after the purchase, I know I have. I've been reloading for close to 30 years and it's still a grand adventure. For the last several years I've gotten away from the high-volume pistol cartridge loading and concentrated on modern rifle, BPCR, and dabbled in 45 Colt. Doing more reading and research now than ever before. I was even "forced" into bullet casting by the unavailability of proper bullets for a certain rifle.
I think you're at the beginning of your own grand adventure, at least I hope so. Please be careful, read the manuals and stickies around here and have fun!
