Is this a good buy?
Just got off the phone with my LGS; he may be getting a used LCP w/CTC guard for $450.90! What do you guys think about that? Should I take the deal, or wait and see if something better comes along? I don't know what condition the gun (or the laser for that matter) are in. Gun Shop owner wasn't 100% sure that he'd even be able to get the gunto sell in the first place. I really want an LCP, as it'd make a great pocket carry piece! Given that it has rudimentary sights at best, the laser would be great asset and also a deterrent. I already have an Uncle Mike's pocket holster for it, mostly it'll be a car gun, something I can access quickly in an emergency. I may carry it as opposed to my Glock 26, (BTW, my favorite carry gun!), if I'm going to be somewhere that the Glock just won't work. I hope that it comes with a spare mag, finger extensions on both mags would be even better! I'll post a detailed review in a few weeks, as soon as I've shot it and carried it some.

Here's a new one on GB:

A quick search of gunbroker shows $400 buy it now options on new ones with Crimson trace grips + $20 shipping. Throw in $25 for an FFL transfer fee and you're talking $445 out the door on a new gun. Your purchase price on the used one of $450 is going to add another $35 or so in tax, making that a $485 gun.
$485 used vs. $445 new is a no brainer for me. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=236967523

let me get this straight....
you are going to buy a used one for more than you could buy a new one for?

Not my deal of choice.
At least have in your hands and check it out before paying anything. I would definitely go with something else though. That sounds kinda high for the LCP. Just my $0.02. |

Maybe he means he's going to buy a new one off gunbroker or something?

I guess his LGS knows his customers.
![]() There's something to be said for paying extra to buy locally and get it NOW, but to pay more for a used gun THAT ISN'T EVEN IN STOCK... ![]() He's got the fever. |

i wouldn't waste money on a laser. you'll not have time, or even remember you have a little red dot to look for on a bad guy when your adrenaline is pumping.
it does aid in practicing trigger control at the range if you need it, but that can be accomplished without the laser. |

not to mention its an lcp.... which is a belly gun at best.... I don't agree with only carrying a mouse gun... but I don't see where you would plan on aiming to the extent of using a laser...

STAY AWAY! I had an LCP and quickly traded it for a Kel-Tec after firing it.

Who the heck REALLY uses lasers? I've got one that came as a deal with my Sigma, I never use the thing. They add wieght, uglyness, and they don't even burn through stuff.

as a trigger control training tool at the range, they do help some people, but like i said before, you don't need a laser for this. they're more useful to LE. |

I also think that price is a little steep. Personally, I would purchase just the firearm first, then determine if I really NEED the laser... That's just my 2 cents though.
