Does anyone know what sort of pistols were in use in 18th or 19th century Spain, or better yet have an references with pictures?

Obviously they were blackpowder and singleshots, but I mean more along the lines of popular calibers and styles and such.

Spain has always been a weapons-making region. Most of the makers made weapons common to the period; i.e. matchlocks, wheellocks, flintlocks, caplocks etc. Sometimes of lesser quality than German, French, or English weapons of the same period.
For some reason their sword-making skills were superb but their firearm-making skills were not on a par with the sword-making skills.

I wish I had some pictures, but Spanish guns of that period were distinctive. Miquelet locks were still around and the Spanish flintlocks had a style all their own. Toward the end of your period, Spanish makers were coming more into conformity with the rest of Europe.

I know this isn't much. I have checked back issues of Armas y Municiones, but they do mostly modern arms.
