Gonna place my order with MGB
Gonna place my order tomorrow for bullets at Montana Gold. I was thinking of 165 gr 40 S&W, using 155 gr right now. My ? is, I have load data listed for the HP's but nothing for the FMJ, right off Hodgdon's web sight. I am using Titegroup powder. Can I use the same starting point with non HP's as I see listed for the Hp's?

As long as the bullet weight is the same, plus or minus just a couple of grains, you're OK to use the same data no matter whether it's FMJ or JHP. However...and I think this is what Jepp2 was referring to...I'd measure the length of each bullet, and adjust the seating depth accordingly. For example, if you're going to load the JHP in place of the FMJ, and the JHP is .005" longer than the FMJ, I'd make the JHP OAL .005" longer than the FMJ cartridge. This will give you the same case volume, so the pressure and velocity should remain the same.
