Glock 21 and 30 Barrel Differences?

Does anyone know the EXACT differences between a G21 and G30 barrel?

(Besides the length!!)

The locking lugs are different dimensions. You can't use a G21 barrel in a G30.

I know.... I want to know exactly what the differences are.

In other words, can I have a G21 barrel machined so as to function in a G30?

I don't think you can, the spacing of the lugs is the main difference. The G21 lugs are further away from one another, so you could not match them to G30 lug dimensions by removing material.

This picture shows the difference(yay Google!): http://media.photobucket.com/image/s...s-G30onG21.jpg

I know Lone Wolf makes an extended G30 barrel. The normal length is 96mm(3.78in), extended Lone Wolf is 107mm, G21 barrel is 117mm.

Storm Lake makes an extended G30 barrel, 4.48inches(113.8mm).

Bar-Sto also makes an extended G30 barrel, but they don't list what the exact length is. I found someone else on the internet saying it's 4.25inches(108mm) but I don't know if that's true.

Yep, but not a single one of them makes a .40Super or .400 Corbon barrel for the G30, but they do for the G21.

If the lugs are farther apart on the G21, can the G30 locking block simply be replaced with one from a G21?

No, the G20/21 locking block is much bigger than the G29/30/36 locking block. There isn't enough space in the G30 frame to cut material out of the G30 frame to make room for the G21 locking block because the front frame rail insert in the G30 frame is too close to the trigger pin and locking block pin holes.

G20/21 locking block: http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.a...OD=511&CAT=198
G29/30/36 locking block: http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.a...OD=545&CAT=198

That link to the G21 locking block is the older model... the newer one is here:

Thanks for the links though... that may help. Your premise is still obviously correct.

I wonder if a machine shop could weld G21 barrel lugs and recut them to fit a G30?

Strange, the G30 block can obviously handle 45acp, I wonder why they bother using a different one.

Oh wow I didn't know they used the same locking block in all of the full sizes now. Thanks for the info.
