.223 Varget load for 55gr. V-Max???

hodgdon lists speer's 55gr. but wanting to get input for loading varget under hornady's 55 gr. V-Max. OAL suggestions would be helpful too. thanks in advance.

Load the same powder for both bullets. Use the starting load and work your way up until you get the same velocity and accuracy results watching for pressure signs.

Or go to hodgdon's website for data with their powder. That's where I usually start if it isn't specifically listed in my manual.

only one problem with both those suggestions (which is why i'm posting here) hornady doesn't have an online load data site (thats free) and hodgdon doesn't list the 55gr v-max. if anyone out there has the latest hornady manual they could maybe just help me out till i can drive the 2 hours to town to buy one. thanks gentlemen.

That is not exactly true. They do have some data for free on their website but...it's not the data your looking for.

I use 25.5 grain Varget with Nosler 55 grain BT. I started at 25 and when I got to 25.5 my stag 4l was shooting 3/4" at 100 yards at 2700 fps.

2.255 OAL with a lee factory crimp on the heavy side.
