Powder Valley is almost always the lowest price, at least every time I've checked they have been.
Right now, they have CCI LR primers at $24/1000 ($120/5000) vs Grafs at $29.29/1000 ($138.99/5000). That seems to be about the normal price spread too. I have yet to see anyone consistently sell powder and/or primers lower than Powder Valley.

Unless you're doing huge batches, I found buying from a store is cheaper. You don't have to tack on the haz-mat fees.

I agree with semi, in fact I usually purchase at the weekend gun shows where I don't pay sales tax too.

I don't know what your local prices are but mine are high enough that 1000 primers and 1 pound of powder covers the hazmat. Powder that sells for $17 or so at Powder Valley is $25-$28 locally and primers are generally $3.99/100, $35/1000 or $155/5000 locally. So, all I need do is buy 2 pounds of powder and 1000 primers to more than cover hazmat and shipping.

I don't buy that much, 1,000 primers may just last me forever. And the store I use 100 primers are like $1.99 and powder is $18 to $24 a lbs. I guess I could go back and double check what prices are now... But when I got my reloader 7 it was way cheaper for me to get it at the store than online. And thats just it, for me its cheaper because I just buy as I need, 1 lbs at a time. But if I knew a few guys who reloaded around here and we put a mass order in, it'd be cheaper online. And even if you got 2 lbs of powder and 1000 primers locally, you'd still save $10 over the $35 haz-mat fee
I'm not sure, but do they ship primers and powder together? With the powders being "accelerants" instead of "explosives" they may be able to.

Powder Valley good prices But Grafs become very competitive on some Items and outright beats everyone if you get a c&r ffl and apply for the dealers discount

Powder Valley is good.
Natchez has treated me right!!!!!!!!!!! A few of got together a couple years back, and ordered almost a $1000 of powder and primers. I wanted to order some also, but my order put it over the wt. limit. So, I just figured I need to eat the extra cost, but Natchez did something they call combined packaging and shipped over wt. for just one hasmat fee. Made my day! Shipping can be a big issue. Seems like Midway can be a bit high in that deptment, so check that cost before ordering! Keep em coming! Crusty Deary Ol'Coot |

Add Gamaliel's and Recob's to amamnn's list. Peet is right about overcoming the hazmat fee. Our two local shops seem to think they have you at their mercy.

They were CCI. The CCI match grades were $2.99 or $3.99 per 100, I can't remember off hand.

My problem is that every time I want to place an order large enough to justify the shipping and hazmat fee the place I want to order from is out of at least one thing I need. For example, Powder Valley does not have Bullseye while Mid-South does not have 2400. Madness!
For anyone in the Mid-Hudson area of NY there is a little gun shop in Hopewell Junction, Collector Arms, that has great prices for a local shop. Got 1000 LP primers for $27 even. Hey Semi, $1.99 per hundred? Really? Where is this place? |
