How Often Do You Carry? CC& open. Honestly.

After having a couple of my extended family members ask recently why I was carrying, it made me think. One was my Aunt, which is funny, because her oldest son carried ALL THE TIME.

I too, carry ALL THE TIME. Literally. When I get out of bed, I put on my gun just like I do pants. It's part of my outfit. It has been for 11 years. I'm not the only one who does that, I know. After asking some of my friends, some of them were curious about CC versus open carry. Now I am too.

I included just the 4 options, thinking it's easier to vote what's closest to your everyday routine. I suppose you can expand on your answer in your post. I didn't think it was a good idea to show who voted for what for obvious security/privacy issues.

Hopefully after July 1, 2011, I can change my response to open carry, but here in FL it's not legal yet...

Open carry is illegal in NY state. I carry concealed and I'm carrying 99% of the time. There might be a total of ten days in the 2 years I've had my permit that I haven't carried.

I carry as often as I get dressed; I just put the holster on in the morning with my jeans.

Concealed carry every day. Everywhere I legally can, I do.

I guess I shouldn't be shocked. Considering where I am asking this. I'm pretty sure we're all a little more comfortable with and interested in guns than most folks. We are on an enthusiast website.

I dont carry as often as I should but i still carry 75% of the time. Whether or not im carrying, I have a hi-point in the glove box of my jeep that is always there. Still, thats not 100% but hopefully close enough.

I don't "carry" around the house, but I have a gun within arms reach 99% of the time. They are spread out everywhere, tool box, desk, every vehicle, nightstand, chair, well you get the idea.

Concealed everyday. I carry open when I'm out dinkin' around in the woods, but even then I have one concealed on me. Two different types of carry for two different types of activity.

All the time accept for the shower. I have my 642 in my pajama pocket now.

The only exception is where it's not legal.

Let's hear about the shooting.
How much hardship did you have afterwards ?
proof and edvidance your life was in danger.

In NY, you would be locked up until it was sorted out.

I guess I am the odd man out. I never carry. I have a weapon in my truck on a trip but never locally unless I am headed to the range.

I have never felt the need to.

Every day. If it is legal for me to do so, according to my CCW permit, I'm carrying a 380 at the very least, or a .40 at most. Don't leave home without it.

Conceal Carry

I carry my conceal piece everyday all day openly. That way I have if I leave the ranch and just have to throw a vest or jacket on. It's a ranch thing. Hey...I can only vote once. I went with concealed.

I carry often but not all the time. I can't carry at work but I usually carry every other time that I leave the house for any thing other than running or at the gym.

I'd carry 100% of the time if I could. On weekends its not unsual to have a my CCW piece on even if I don't intend to leave the house.

Concealed carry every day. Everywhere I legally can, sucks when I'm pulling permits and have to go to different gov offices, but it keeps me sharp on where the no-no zones are. I'd never open carry even it it was legal in my state. No reason to give away information for free.

I don't carry much because I haven't gotten a pocket gun or proper holsters for my current guns. It remains to be seen how often I carry after that.

KY is a very understanding state when it comes to OC, but I CC most of the time simply because I'm not a people person and don't care for attention, positive or otherwise. If everyone would stop making comments and asking questions, I'd probably OC a lot more.

atlctystlkr, I'm curious as to why that is.

larry5081, I woulda thought you'd vote open since you do that most often. You only conceal when off your property, but you are most often on your property carrying open. Did I understand you correctly?

I got a message that there should have been the ability to vote more than once, but I was more interested in your most common carry or lack thereof. I sometimes carry open too, but far more often concealed. I think I would even if it was more accepted. See I live in NOVA. Even though it's legal, we're so close to DC that alot of folks are spooked by it. So I chose to CC even if there is the option. I know it can be slower to draw, but I think there is something to be said for the element of surprise. If the zombies don't know you're packin', they can't really plan to handle you correctly.

Poll

alabaster...You got it right but I thought your poll meant for cases of off personal residents. That's why the contact about multiple carry responses sense I conceal carry and open carry. No one would know if I open carry except visitors(and does that get some looks).

You did not have the option for never!

I live in the Commy State of IL where we are not allowed to carry and with the election of the Governor and the King like mentality of the Speaker of the house We may not see a carry bill passed for years and years! Time to move!:barf:
