Help Dating S&W Model 34

I recently purchased a nice little model 34 snubby and I'm trying to figure out when it was made. The SN is M552XX. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The bluing is about 85% and there is a bit of pitting in a couple of places on the cylinder but nothing too bad. The action locks up nice and the trigger pull is smooth and sweet. This will be shooter not a safe queen so some honest wear on it doesn't bother me. It will be getting some range time next week with its big brother my 1948 K22 Masterpiece. : )

I'll try to get a pic up later in the week.

Thanks RJay. Since it's 71-73 I'll call it late 72 so it's the same model year as me. : )
