Many Smith & Wesson revolver barrels now consist of thin barrels and outer shrouds; to the best of my knowledge, however, they can't be disassembled and interchanged.

There's a few custom gun makers out there that I've found...but I haven't personally had the opportunity to try them out yet.
Jim Strahan made this barrel, for example...

This one was made by Clark Custom...

Here is one of many done by J.C. Blauvelt ...

But of course, in the late 90's, you could just order one directly from the Dan Wesson factory...

k511, that's a cool barrel! First time I've seen the end of a barrel jeweled like that.

its the first ive seen as well. theres a small diamond punched into the underside of the barrel, theres another on the hammer and trigger that you cannot see without taking it apart, anyhow im assuming thats the mark of the gunsmith that did the work. I havent been able to find any info on it though

Inferno, I just stumbled across this today. Looks well used, so functionality may be iffy.

This might be a dumb question but why would you want that on your gun? Does it help with accuracy? Add weight so less jump?
Thanks,

I think there is a confusion of terms here.
A barrel shroud is the outer barrel of a two piece barrel design, such as used by Dan Wesson.
Are you talking about sights?
