Regional Parks Carry Law

I can't figure this out, either through Google or TFL.

In California, where I live, I have rattlesnakes...everywhere. Now, I know I can shoot 'em on my own land.

However.

If I go hiking (seriously, I mean hiking.), can I take along my 870, slung over my back, with a couple rounds of birdshot in my pocket or backpack or stock shell carrier for anti-rattler in the summer?

By the way, this is on a California Regional Park.

Gives the regulations for State Parks, where all loaded weapons are prohibited except for limited hunting areas.

lists regional parks as being under local ordinances, so you would have to contact the particular park in question to find out.
