I've heard that there is an IDPA or IPSC class for J-frame type guns. Can anybody verify this?

Well... there is not a special class JUST for J-frames in IDPA. There is Stock Service Revolver. But there be lots of Colt Pythons in there too.

I have heard that at some IDPA matches they have a side match for "backup guns".
