I live in Virginia and I'm looking for a person who can point me to a rifle competition. I have a few questions about equipment as well. Thanks in advance.

Check out www.nra.org Locate the competitions department. Or Publications for SHOOTING SPORTS which lists all sanctioned competitions in the country.

Fairfax Rod and Gun Club offers small bore and high power silhouette matches once each month on a Sunday. Check with them, they used to hold high power matches and benchrest as well, but I have not been there in a while so I am not sure if they are still up.
