Looking to get started

I'm honestly looking to start competition shooting. Anyone from Kansas? What is the most commonly used .223 match rifle? Any other 2-3 caliber match rifles with cheaper ammo? I'm thinking about the NRA state competitions.
Edit: are AR15's popular?

If you are talking about NRA High Power, service rifle, yes the AR's are the MOST popular anymore.

Go to CMP and/or NRA website and look for matchs in your area.

What part of Kansas are you in? We are having an action rifle match next Sunday in OKC. If your down in the South it's a lot of fun. If your anywhere near Tulsa there is a club over there that shoots an IDPA based 2 gun rifle/pistol match.

The best out of the box rifle is the RockRiver Match. Hard to beat it, cost a little more but worth it in a match.
