New addition to the collection - M396

I knew better than to visit the gun shop. I've been eying one of these for a couple months. All it took was to physically handle it. Can't wait to get to the range.

She's a keeper. Put about 150 rounds through it Sunday at the range. 50 factory Magtech 240g lead and 100 reloads, 245g Lead SW. 100% went bang, the double action got a bit draggy with the heaviest loads but improved if I let it cool down a bit?

Once I got the impact point of the different loads it was readily hammering 5" steel plates at 20 yds. Double action pulls were smooth and predictable. Single action trigger pull although heavy was very nice.

Few hundred more rounds of practice and I think this one will become my primary SD carry.

Yeah, 44 Special.

I liked it so much I picked up its sister today. The M386 in .357 Magnum.

Yes the M386 is a 7 shooter

It was a tough choice between it and a stainless 2.5" 686 they had there.
