Security Six Holster

Can anyone tell me if the Ruger Security Six would use the same holster as a S&W K frame? The major holster makers don't list many options for the Ruger. Anyone have both guns they use the same holster for?

Yes. The Bianchi holster I bought for mine was for a K frame. IIRC the cylinder diameter is about .05" larger on the Ruger.

Well...

Make sure the front sight ramp is the same. On a Security Six vs M66, they fit almost exactly alike. The M65 has a much lower ramp b/c it has a very low fixed sight. I have found that some K Frame holsters fit my M65s great but push the muzzle back while front ramp cuts into leather. I would try to find one specifically for the M66. The Security Six will fit just right.

Any K-frame holster should fit a Security Six. I had both for awhile. All my K-holsters from Bianchi and Safariland interchanged between a target sighted Ruger Sec-6 and a S&W 66.

Security Six holster

I have a 1960's holster that started out fitting a Model 15 Dan Wesson. With a soak and reforming, it went to a Security Six and then to a S&W 686.
