8 Shot .357 Value

Hey guys. I have a quick question about my revolver. I was given a Taurus .357 Mag that shoots 8 rounds a few years ago for my birthday. I've looked around and I'm seeing that 8 shots are pretty hard to come by. I was just wondering if anyone knows an estimated value of this gun.

the 8-shot taurus is the 608
msrp is $615. actual retail would be less usually. I would imagine it runs about $500-550 new. I haven't priced taurus' but if it were mine I'd hope to get $350 maybe $400 if I sold it to a private party. if you sold it to a gunshop they would need to turn it for a profit so they'd only give you about $200-250 if that. keep in mind that this is at best an educated guess on my part

check gunbroker.com or some other auction site to get a better idea. it would also help if you could get an idea of what they generally retail for.

My local shop sells those new for about $495. I know what yer saying though, those SW custom shop 8 shots are pricy.

DavisE, how do you like the 608? Any problems? Been thinking about picking up one of those that a guy I know has for sale. How do you like yours?

I sold the same gun to my brother for $300. I don't think it's worth less in good shape, but I don't think it's worth more than $350.

I paid bass price $375 for a new one about three years ago, but after shipping, transfer, and that darn $25 Brady tax NV has it was like $450 Out the door.

The S&W Performance Center ones are indeed spendy, but they're in a whole other league. The Taurus 608 is a current production revolver, so despite it maybe not being in stock all that often, they won't be that hard to come by, and value will reflect that. The prices given above are a good guide.

Just sell it to me and you won't have to worry about it.

I bought a 7 shot new for about $325. 8 shots were running that to $380 if like new. Different locals, different prices.

Thanks for all the information.

MSG, I really like it and haven't had any problems yet. Well, the shells were getting stuck at one point, but that was completely my fault with cleaning. I didn't do it often enough so it got pretty dirty in there.

Again, thanks everyone one!
Davis.
