Mini 14 Wooden Handguard

Does anybody know where to buy a wooden handguard for one of the older mini 14s?

I've always thought ......

that the early, wooden upper handguards looked great, and would love to put one on my Mini-30.

I really wish someone would make a stock for the mini that is a reproduction of an M1 Carbine Paratrooper folder with a wooden pg. That would be so sweet. May have to fab my own someday.

The old factory folder with pistol grip (ala the A-Team) was one if the best looking guns ever! I wish they would bring it back.

Well, Ed, I thought you were going to write Ruger about that. Get on 'em man!

On the wood handguards, I'm told Carl at www.accuracysystemsinc.com is a good source for them. I also see them on ebay from time to time.

I did actually send an email. Response was 'Lack of demand, new models, etc. Blah, blah, blah. Thank you for writing.' I guess we're going to have to mount up in the conversion van and may them a visit.

Too long a drive?
Well, I ain't flying with no crazy fool pilot like Murdock!
Mmmm, milk my favorite. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I know its been awhile, but I sent you a pm.

On a side note, does anybody know if the wooden handguard will fit a 187 series mini ranch rifle? Its the older style with skinny barrel.

JH, Numrich had them in stock a short time ago. As far as fitting, they work on any Mini 181 series to 581 series.
