New to me Ruger M77 MKII 30-06

Traded for it at a gun show this weekend. Serial number dates it from 1992. Bluing is like new and the stock looks new too. It has a cheap Redhead scope on it. I cleaned the bore and it had very little dirt. Will be changing out the scope tomorrow and heading to the range to sight it in. Can't wait to see how it performs.

A fine rifle and a great cartridge

When using a fine rifle and a great cartridge, the scope becomes EVERYTHING... so spend as much as you can reasonably afford on it. You won't be sorry if you do.

The barrel and it's bedding is the next most important.

Snug fore and aft fasteners right up and gun the middle loose.

Congrats on the trade for a great rifle as all the Ruger Model 77's I owned were exellent shooters.

I have it dialed in with a 3 shot group less than 1 inch at 100 yds with a Bushnell Elite 4200 3x9x40 and Fusion 150gr cartridge.

Great rifle, great cartridge. If you get to loading, 52gr of 4064 under a CCI200 primed 150 of your choice. Great accuracy and 2900 out of a 22" barrel.
