Hunting license

How does one acquire a hunting license? Does it vary from state to state? Is a training/safety class required? Thanks for the help! (I live in Washington state if that helps)

I'm not sure about Washington but here in Idaho if you were born after 1975 you have to complete a hunter's education course to get your license. What bowhunter said about Oregon is true, sometimes people here in Idaho just go to Oregon and buy a license if they are over 18 and then present here in Idaho to get their Idaho license because you can just show proof of a license from another state.

Washington Hunting License

Hunter education training is required in Washington State for all hunters born after January 1, 1972.

Take a safety course even if you do not need one.

In general your state's Department of Natural Resource (or similar) establishes hunting seasons and harvest limits.

Apparently in your state it is the Washington Dept of Fish and Wildlife.
