Remington 1858 or 1875 in .44 MAGNUM...?

I asked this on THR, as well.

I was sure someone made/makes a very nice version of the Remington revolver in .44 Mag., but I can't recall who it is.

Anybody have info on this?

You can try Uberti. I purchased a 1858 in black powder and purchased a conversion cylinder for metalic center fire in 38spl. I know they make the 1858 in 44 but unsure about 44 mag.
Heres the site, www. uberti.com. Happy hunting

No.

They make Remington revolvers old west style, but only in .44-40 and .45 Colt and .357, but not .44 magnum.

Got an answer on THR:

Perhaps someone wants to call in and inquire...?

Read some articles on them but don't know if the Hartford Armory guns ever made it into production. They are supposed to be REALLY well made guns, along the lines of USFA. Not sure how comfortable they would be to shoot at .44Mag/.45Colt +P recoil levels though. Call them and let us know the scoop.
