Savage 720 question
Hi
I just got a savage 720, But I never seen one like it. It is lightly engraved, on one side it has a marsh scene with ducks, on the other side it has a pointer and quail. The top of the reciever is scroll engraved on the four corners and it has savage engaved between them on the side opisite of the bolt. It is also strange in that it does not have a serial number. I was just wondering if anyone had seen one like it or had any information. Thanks for any help. Last edited by jetto; August 19, 2009 at 12:58 PM. |

No Serial #
No serial number was common before the Gun Control Act of 1968.
I have a Remington 550 that has a manufacturing date code (CE10) that I have used whenever anyone asks me about a #, but there must be a few hundred of those made in April 1958. |
