anyone know what mag this is?

maybe an enfield. marked N77. maybe 30-06.

Looks like SMLE mag to me.
If its not standard could it be for an L42?

Yeah, looks like an SMLE mag.
Should be either .303 or .308.
See what fits well, but I'm betting .303.

Would bet on .303; the magazine for my 7.62x51 2A1 is much more squared off at the bottom due to not having a rimmed cartridge to contend with.

It is for the Rifle No. 4. N77 is Thomas Turner & Co., Sheffield.

So are we all in agreement it's for the Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk 1/2 or 1/3?
Didn't know Thomas Turner & Co made mags, just cutlery.

It is for the No. 4 Mk anything. As to Turner, A lot of companies made arms or parts for them during wartime.
