I don't see the point of low profile sights. Maybe some of you can clue me in on why they were invented. When you wear a holster, the low profile sight does nothing to help your draw (if that is why people like them...so they don't get hung up on the draw?). If you have a decent holster, it should have a sight channel and the height of the sight is not an issue in the smoothness of the draw. I just shoot a lot better with the standard higher profile sights like Heinie Straight Eights or Wilson Night Eyes and I really don't see the advantage of the low profile sights. Why where low profile sights invented, and why have they remained popular? |

Well... some folks don't use a holster to carry. Just stick it in a pocket or behind a belt.
Also... once you have cleared a holster, you may still have a jacket or coat to clear with out getting snagged. Joe ------------------ Go NRA |
