City Rights vs. State Rights vs. Federal Law
I don't know if the title of my post is correct but it bothers me when a city says they are banning guns within city limits. One argument against that is that ordinary citizens will obey the law and be unarmed while the criminals will ignore the law as they do other laws and have guns. And I see it that way too. But what I need to find out is are there any statistics that shows that states that have easier concealed carry laws are safer and nicer than states that have very strict concealed carry laws?

There are no reliable statistics that prove one way or the other that CCWs have any effect on crime or that states with easy access to CCWs have lower crime rates.
Believe me, we would love to prove it.

here's a quick one: detroit is high in crime and one can carry with a permit, DC is high in crime and one cannot carry.

In which case, we can close this. Especially as it was just discussed (to death).
