Glock 26 vs HK P2000SK

I own both but like the G26 better.

Would like further comments from users.

I've had my HK P2000SK 9mm for several years now. It is my main CCW. It's just as accurate and easy to shoot as my fullsize HK's but in a smaller more concealable package. I bought a Glock 26 to keep in my truck as I was looking for a small, beater 9mm and I ended up selling it a week later. I just couldn't get used to it. I do love my Glock 19 but couldn't stand the feel of the G26.

I have a problems with the grips on the 2KSK. The lower end of the magazine sticks out towards the front restricting a big hand to grip it with convinience.

The G26 mag doesnt have anything stick out font or rear making it more open to different grip styles.

I used a Dremel and cut the base plate on my P2000SK mags. It's only a two finger grip but that's plenty for me to handle it with ease.

Just get the baseplates for a 357sig version.

The G26 is one of my favorite 9mm's. In forty/357sig, I strongly prefer the HK, but in 9mm, it's pretty much a push for me.

G26
Con - plastic sights, thick all over, wouldn't put in a compartment/bag with a chamber loaded unless holstered
Pro - tested design, 10 - 32 round magazines, holsters available everywhere, parts easy to obtain and inexpensive.

HK P2000SK
Con - the triangular wide trigger guard makes finding a great fitting holster harder, I think harder to get parts and probably more expensive
Pro - steel sights, best takedown lever I've seen on a polymer, wide trigger guard along with double action first shot makes me feel better about placing loaded in a compartment without a holster, after getting used to the mag release wonder why this feature isn't on more semi-autos.

The glock is a great gun, but my vote hands down goes to the hk. I own 3 glocks and i love them, but imo they do not hold a candle to the hk. It does everything a glock does, but is proved more accurate out of the box. As far as the mags are concerned, i have 4 different styles for the p2ksk. 1 has a scherer glock extension custom fit in, 1 is stock, 1 has dremled down baseplate, and i have 1 uspc mag w the x-grip. For the range, i like using the xgrip and the finger extended mag(provide a full grip and essentially becomes more than enjoyable to shoot) and depending on what im wearing depends on the mag i throw in the gun. I do not have any biased towards glock whatsoever, My service pistol is the g22 and it does the job. But i would def carry hk if i had my choice, more ergonomic for me and i love sa/da.

I'd take the HK. I have always liked HK's better than Glocks in almost every way.

Once again the Glock is the choice.
The G26 is simple and smaller than its competitors.

HK's are real nice but for the money in a small, good capacity 9mm handgun the Glock is the choice.

I've shot the Hk P2000sk with the LEM and I hated the heavy trigger pull.

I voted for the HK. It is what I carry. I do not like the LEM trigger, but it aint on my pistol either.

I've shot both, like both but if I could only have one, I'd go w/ the Glock b/c of its simplicity & ease of finding parts.

This is what I have noticed. People who actually NEED to carry a firearm would always prefer the Glock.

HK though of superior quality is usually preferred by casual just-in-case carriers.

Pls note price & afforability issues are constant.

Here's a P2000sk in a comp-tac minotaur:

Holster fits it perfectly. I have this in .40 and it is a sweeeeeeet shooter. Accurate as anything. Oh, and I can IWB CC it basically all day long in almost any weather.

Only problem is I picked up a Kahr pm9 and it is just too too easy to slip in my pocket.

Isn't it great to have problems like that?

You'll never feel the heavy trigger pull, unless you can assemble the gun with the round in the chamber.

I too prefer the G26 because it's noticeably smaller and I prefer the magazine release in the normal place. Don't like the up and down lever mag release on the HK. It forces me to move my grip too much.

It's certainly not that big of a deal. Either is a pretty good gun and both have been reliable for me.

My choice will always be an HK over a Glock, ergonomics if nothing else. Plus, HK is one over engineered handgun. I like that.

Funny, the ergos (especially that silly mag release) and weight are the things I DISLIKE most about the HK.
