thanks

Thank you for all the advice. I think I'm going to try a new wedge. Do wedges have different sizes, and where can I get them? The bottom of the handle says: PR. FIE italy. If all else fails, my son is teaching me how to twirl the gun and I'll just buy another one because Im just starting black powder and I'm not ready to quit just yet. Thanks again, your advice really helps.

Before you buy a new wedge, try what I do - I put a small shim next to the wedge and it tightens everything up. A piece of a beer can might work, or thicker if you need it.
