shine

Saw a gun cloth at Bass Pro designed for s/s have not tried it. I use a good gun cloth. Brush the gun with Hoppes and do the clean up.

For lead /power build up inside the yoke and on the cylinder flutes take a lead pencil and lightly color over. The remove with the rubber eraser. Learned that at the DEA academy back in the 70s

If it's just lead, use Birchwood Casey's Lead Away cleaning cloth. Works great. If you want to also polish out any faint surface stratches as well, Flitz is really good for that.

Canned air

I cant tell you how nice it is to have some canned air around when cleaning excess oil out of the small nooks and crannys of a firearm. Over lubrication gets guns dirtier than almost anything. Totally worth it.

Thanks for the info! I am looking to polish. There are also some very fine scratches here and there. I did a search for stainless steel polish and got some nice results.
