Shooting log book

I am going to use word to create a shooting log book, but what info do I include?

Things I will definitely include are, shooting position, wind speed, number of rounds fired, any failures, range, grouping, temperature, bullet type (brand, grains etc.), powder (brand, grains, etc.), brass, primer, O.A.L., scope elevation, scope windage, and weather condition, not in that order.

Anything I missed?

If something like that doesn't work for you just add a picture of a target to your list so you can plot shots

overkill

Man, that's a lot of work.

I can really see the rationale for shooting reloads and sorta just for tracking purposes. But, it just sounds way too Type A.

As you can see I'm not a Type A

But, I guess good info would be what:

Ammo (manufacturer and bullet weight)
Distance your shooting
Standing, from bench, strong/weak arm, how fast
Also total round count (how many rounds you put through your gun).

Sun direction and/or light condition. I usually draw a circle, place my pencil point in the center of the circle and, holding the pencil vertically, draw a line in the opposite direction from the pencil's shadow.

Word is just text. Use a spreadsheet and maybe you'll find useful data at some point.

If you write them down, your range trip stories can't improve with age.

Online Shooters Log

Does anyone use an online shooters log? I found one site online, and a couple pieces of software you can install, but I wanted to see if anyone recommends a site or software to use. I don't mind paying for the software, but I want to know it works!

Site is NICE

Rangelogger - I am on your site and it is pretty sweet. On thing is that the shot reports are not available. Is that something you guys will be adding? Also, will you have reloader/ballistics software available?

looks good - I am glad I got in early!!

Excel is the way to go. for each range session I put down the date, number of rounds shot, note any failures or mods and any +P ammo shot. I have a key for my abbreviations and some pics.
