Need some gear opinions

I'm planning on buying a Savage Model 10FCP HS Precision for hunting and target shooting out to about 600 yds. I have no idea of what type of scope to put on it! I was looking at the leupold VX-L 4.5-14x50mm with the Boone and Crockett Big Game reticle. It looks like a nice scope because I want a large objective for low light hunting and it should fit the HS Precision stock well. What do yal think? and this is kind of off topic but is a parallax adjustment on a scope really necessary for long range shooting? I don't know too much about scopes. Please somebody give me some information! haha

Welcome to TFL, rebelfan127.

We'll move this to Gear & Accys.
