Ordered new barrel bushing from EGW

After reading as much as I could find here and other forums concerning proper barrel bushing fit on government model 1911's, I ordered my replacement from Evolution Gun Works (EGW).

My barrel bushing just felt "oversized" in that it seemed to have a lot of play. So using digital calipers I measured like the instructions said (barrel ID = .578" / slide OD = .699"). The stock bushing measured in at .584" - .585" - which according to what I've read is 3 times too much clearance. I know that some play is good in a USGI replica firearm (loose as a goose) but .006" seems excessive. So in about 3 weeks we'll see how much better my 1911 is with the new bushng.

And Happy New Year to All.
