It looks like I will just have to invest in a much better IWB holster and possibly a shoulder holster. I feel it's too visible if I carry it anywhere besides appendix.

I just bought a Taurus PT111. I wanted the .45, but the double-stack .45 made for a fat handle that stuck out like a huge "I'm Strapped" sign. The 9mm fixed that. So far, any holster I've tried has served to make the gun less concealed than just tucking it. Except that nice ankle holster the guy at the gun shop showed me. Not sure I want to go with ankle, though. Any recommendation for Thunderwear/Smartcarry?

HK USPc 40 in Blackhawk leather IWB holster, usually at 4oclock... Sometimes the Blackhawk Serpa with my leather jacket over it (makes it easy to switch to open when going to restaurants, as required by law). Was debating the merits of getting the Serpa shoulder holster platform. Anyone have it and like/dislike it?
BTW I just got my permit in yay me (and the great state of Virginia), so my opinion has little to no merit. Just felt like showing off the gear...

Whatever I am carrying, it is always at 4 o'clock. Been carrying a fullsize USP for a while now, but I just got my new MTAC in today for my HK P7 and am loving it.

In my pocket, front or back. Anywhere the pistol is concealed, it is not really available for instant access. I can pull the pistol from my pocket quickly enough if I anticipate a confrontation. If one is forced to draw the weapon against an existing threat then one is already at a significant disadvantage. I just keep mine where I can get to it easily.

I find 11 oclock crossdraw on owb leather holster the most comfortable for me with a extremely fast draw going into a C.A.R. stance......to each his own

Full size Kimber Custom II in a Brommeland gunleather holster at 4 o'clock. Presents a problem when bending over in light clothing; just have to be more conscience about my movements.

"Where do you like to carry your weapon?"
Everywhere, usually strong-side IWB.

When using my belt or IWB holster, I normally carry at about 3:17.
IWB in my Desantis Gunhide OWB in my belt holster. When its in my Fobus paddle (range days and lounging around the house) it's at 3:00 on the dot.

I carry strong-side, usually between 3 and 4 o'clock position. I used to carry IWB only, but these days I tend to carry OWB most of the time. I'm still waiting on my new IWB holster, which should be coming anyday now....

I carry three different ways (and practice all three).
During the 8 months of the year that it's 100 degrees here in Texas, I pocket carry my Kahr PM9 ... I wear shorts every day, and the gun and a DeSantis Nemesis fits perfectly in the right front pocket. When it cools off a bit, I carry either the PM9 or a Kimber Ultra Carry II in a strong side paddle holster, concealed by whatever the temperature that day will allow. If I'm doing a lot of driving, I slide the paddle holster to the left side and carry cross-draw, for ease of accessing the gun while seated and belted, if necessary ... I generally like cross-draw the best, but it prints more than strong-side, so I have to choose my spots ...

My primary CCW is usually in a belt holster at the right hip (4:00). There is always a mini-revolver in my RF pants pocket, and often a KT .32 or .380 in my left inside jacket pocket (particularly when driving).

I carry my .45 Colt OCP in a Desantis Speed Scabbard at the 3:30 position. I also carry an Emerson knife, in my front pocket, using its wave functionality to open it with one hand.
I carry a spare magazine on my weak side at about 11 o'clock. |
