Actually the mossberg manual says that the Improved Cylinder choke will produce the best accuracy with most slugs....
As for skeet/trap I don't know what is best but I don't have a problem hitting clays with Mod. that came with my gun.

Jay,
For shooting Skeet, you want a wider choke pattern so go with Imp Cyl. For shooting Trap, you want a tighter pattern so go with Modified. Don't use Full choke unless you are a master class trap shooter firing from max distance.

For Skeet...

use a Skeet choke, Mossberg sells them may fins one at a dealer.
Would use the Imp. Cyl. for trap espcially from the 16yd line, from 20 yd the use the modified.

Cylinder is correct for the forster (hollow-based) slugs, if you want to use the sabot slugs then buy a rifle tube that screws in the barrel.

Cyclinder or Skeet chokes are used for Skeet / Mod is the common choke for Trap from the 16 yard line. Personally, I like 1 oz of 8's as my 16yard Trap line load / and for skeet in a 12ga.
