S&W mod 36 Ser 209466

A friend of mine was willed a S&W model 36 ser# 209466. It was his Grandfather's and he is just trying to find a little history on the revolver, like when it was manufactured. Any help is appreciated

Best info I have (SCSW3E) says that the last S/N for '57 was 125000 and the first S/N for 1962 was 295000. Any closer than that is going to require mailing a check to Roy Jinks at S&W.
