Ruger Blackhawk question

Have any of you changed the springs out in your blackhawk? I am talking about the trigger spring and the hammer spring. I am looking at getting the Wolf springs kit for it but I want to know how difficult the install was before i bought it. Is it something you can do yourself or do you need a gunsmith to do it?

Is there anything I should give extra attention to when taking it apart?

I installed the Wolfe spring kit in 2 of my 45's several years ago. The instructions are first rate and you should have NO problem doing this. Besides, there are not a LOT of moving pasrt to worry about. Single actions are pretty simple.

Changing the hammer and trigger springs are not difficult. The base pin spring that comes with the kit requires a special driver tip. If you don't want the new base pin spring installed, you got no problem.

If you really want to be impressed, check out one that's been tuned by having a 90 degree sear done to it.
