.222 Remington ARs were produced by Colt, and I think there are some other manufacturers that still make them. They evidently are popular in foreign markets where civilians cannot own weapons in "military" calibers.

Anyone selling the 5.45 other than directly from S&W? I'm really wanting one if the price can work for me.

AR15 Performance should get the credit on the 6.8 SPC (not 6.8 Remington SPC). Model 1 Sales is low end stuff and has not performed any development.

Model 1 is just a manufacturer (or assembler if you rather) of uppers in 6.8 as well as J&T Distributing, CMMG, and a couple others. Who created it? Don't know. I thought the OP was looking for suppliers based on
Quote:
trade name of an AR or upper in that caliber
.

However, to counter Barber's barb (pun intended) 6.8 SPC/6.8 Remington SPC, come on! Google it and what do you find? Even look at the website dedicated to it http://www.68spc.com/ and what's in the title line? 6.8 Remington SPC.

204 was brand new back in 2008 when this thread started.

I think its time for a new thread with some updated info.
