AK47 Barrel

I just got an AMD-65 kit from an acquaintance and it has a cut barrel and of course no receiver. I wanted to see if anyone had suggestions on good places to buy a barrel and/or new stamped receiver preferably pre-milled for the AMD-65. Prefer to deal with companies that people have good experience and reviews for.

Currently, the best AK stamped receivers on the market are made by the oddly-named NoDak Spud:

Apex is good to deal with...when they say excellent they mean it.

The Romanian barrel might have fitting issues...check with the boys at

"as i asked over at gunco, ding, would ds1911's drill press method work for turning down the journals on our yugo and romy barrels? He said, i believe, chuck up the muzzle in a drill press, and brace a journal with a 'v' shaped
backer, barrel through the hole in the table, down from where you're working with a file. if you were going to cut the 16" barrel to AMD length you could do that last."
