Encore 12ga or 20ga rifled barrel?

I have a 12 Prohunter barrel on the way for my Encore. It was such a good deal I had to buy it. But I really think I want a 20 ga. The ballistic's appear to be the same out to 150 yards...But I want 200 yd capability. The 12 has a 1 in 28 rifleing and the 20 has a 1 in 24...I hear the 20 is super accurate, easy under 2"groups @ 100yds. I know shot placement is the most important thing. But is the 20 with a SST load in it suffecient? I have a Marlin 512 12 ga that does that also with litefields ( 2" groups @ 100 yds) But I have never shot it past there....I have a H&R 12ga Ultra Slugger that Kicks harder than any gun I own..And it sure doesnt like SST's.... Thing busted my forehead wide open...With a Leupold on it..It is still setting in the corner from last year. Any Who know's what Thanks Drop

I bought the 12 g rifle barrel for mine and regretted it before it even arrived! With the 12 g, you have to remove the rear sight base and use it for the LONG scope rail. The receiver isn't heavy enough to mount there, so they extended the rail and you must use the sight base screw holes too. With the 20 g it mounts right onto the receiver, you can still use iron sights if you want with see-thru rings! Also.....I use the SST's and the recoil is very heavy in the Encore also. I also had an Ultra Slug in 12g and the recoil in my Encore is comparable if not worse. Only thing making it slightly better is I have a thumbhole stock making the hold a little better. Make sure you have plenty of eye relief on your scope! If I ever come across someone wanting to trade a 20 g rifled barrel for a 12g rifled barrel.....it's gone! Good luck, sorry I didn't catch this post earlier.
