Dan Wesson 41 magnum

Just joined and am glad to be here. I'm seriously looking for a DW 41 mag with a 6" or 8" barrel. Would really like to locate a DW Standard Sil. in 41. I find a lot of confusion in the forums I visit concerning DW. Are they still being made now that CZ has taken over. Does anyone know of a dealer or distributor who might have some in stock. I would consider a "pre-owned" DW. Thanks.

Dan Wesson .41 Mag

The Dan Wesson revolvers haven't been made for several years. I've seen some semi-autos made by CZ so far. You will probably have to settle for a used one, if you can find any. They appear to be a great revolver, I just picked up a used .44 Mag the other day. All I hear is praise for them. I've seen some in pawn shops and gun stores. I doubt you will regret getting one if you can find one in good shape. Good luck..

CZ currently makes only 1 or 2 DW revolvers, check their website. The older DWs, while not plentiful show up on Gunbroker frequently - that's where I got all 3 of mine. CZ-USA still makes parts and supports the older models though...

NGIB is correct, CZ/Dan Wesson currently offers a couple of version of their large frame revolver in 445 SuperMag. My understanding is CZ/DW have suspended production of the revolvers as the 1911's are consuming all their current manufacturing resources.

You can find used .41 Mag Dan Wessons on occasion, usually on Gun Broker and at times on Guns America.

The .41 DW is probably the hardest model of them all to find except maybe the .32 DW. They aren't making any new right now and you seldom see them on the used market. It took me several years of looking before I finally found the one I have now. A bit of advice is to look for a Monson model and avoid the Palmer models. GOOD luck in your search.

Thanks everyone

I had hoped to find a 41 mag, but have no problem with their 44 magnums having had two in past years and being more than pleased with both. Deer season is a few months away so there's no rush. If anyone does hear of one on the market, I'd appreciate a heads up. BTW I do keep pretty close tabs on GunsAmerica. Thanks again.

It just happens that I saw a 6-inch stainless Dan Wesson .41 magnum this afternoon at one of our local gun stores. They were asking $349 for it, which seems like a bargain to me. I have to admit to feeling the pull towards my wallet for 10-15 minutes before I fought off the urge.

If you're interested, give Guncrafters a call in Salem, Oregon.

Look on Gunbroker. I find them there fairly often. I think CZ is currently making revolvers but may not be currently making that caliber.
