Nashville area gun stores...which is the best?

I'm going up to Nashville for a couple of days and was wondering where the best gun stores in town are. I'm looking for the ones with the best selection of new and used handguns and rifles. Thanks for any replies back.

If you don't mind a 20 mile drive down I-24 to Lavergne you should check out:

Specialty Arms
184 Old Nashville Hwy Ste C
LA Vergne, TN 37086-2813
Phone: (615) 793-9696

Personally, I'm a fan of East Side Gun Shop. Owner's always been good to me, I bought my first gun at his place and have bought another from him since then. Both work beautifully. He's got a decent selection of used handguns at good prices, but he doesn't have many rifles. Most of the rifles are older/collectible types (usually he carries about 10).

Another place to look for a much better rifle/shotgun selection is Gun City USA, but they are a little pricier on their handguns.

Also second the suggestions of Specialty Arms and Guns & Leather.

Can't you see East Side from I-24? I passed by there several times meaning to stop. This fellow could stop in both shops which are about 10 minutes apart or so?

Hello
I have been to Gun City USA there. It is The Oldest Gun shop In Nashville, and they have a decent collection of New and Used guns. They also have a Range down in The Basemant for $15.00 Per shooter to try out one or bring yours in to shoot. If you plan to shoot in the basement WATCH The ceiling beams as it is low and if you are over 6' it Can smash your Noggin... Hammer It

Gun City is a joke.

Specialty firearms in Lavergne is large and has a smith on site. Just O.K. to deal with.

Guns n Leather in Greenbriar is a modern well stocked store with lots and lots of guns and a good staff.

Eastside is a small place with used handguns. Owner is great guy and will work with you. He is really good at finding you a gun at a great price.

Bear in mind that Guns n Leather and Specialty are 50-60 miles apart.

Specialty, Guns and Leather, and Nashville Sporting Arms. I also hear good things about Franklin gun shop but I have never been there.

I actually went to the Franklin Gun Shop because I was able to drop wife off at the mall and it was only 2 or 3 miles down the road. They have a pretty good selection of pistols and rifles. Their prices are pretty steep however. I guess I've gotten a little spoiled living near Memphis because you can buy the same gun at Guns and Ammo for about the same price, but you don't have to pay the sales tax if you pay in cash. With the Tennessee sales tax at something like 9.25%, it can be quite a bit of savings. I tried to buy at box of ammo to fit in my Swiss K-31. Believe it or not, they were wanting $59.99 a box for some Serbian made ammo that I can buy anywhere on the internet for between $11 and $14 a box. I don't know if the price was a mistake or not, but I told the guy he had done lost his freakin' mind and walked out.
