What is your "dream" hand gun???????

Ok....Here is the scenario....I have about $2000 disposal income this year for a hand gun....or another one....just need one more....you know how that tune goes.

Question is: For $2000 or less, what would be the hand gun you would buy and why? What is the hand gun you stay awake at night dreaming about or thinking of legal ways to come up with it. (and if your wife didn't have to know about it)

No lofty goals here - I'm a practical guy. I want a P99 in .40 S&W with the olive-colored body.

At the moment it would be...

A 3.5 inch blue .357 Magnum (or Model 27) Smith & Wesson revolver, or

a 4 inch blue Combat Magnum (or Model 19) Smith & Wesson revolver, or

a 1950 Target Model S&W revolver in .45 ACP or .44 Special, or

a 4 inch .44 Magnum (or Model 29) S&W revolver.

Or as many of them as I could afford with the money at hand.

A Sig Sauer P226-229 if I could only afford it but one of these days I will get one I like the pistols design and the way it is.A Glock 17-23 would also be a pistol I would like to have to.
otherwise a S&W Model 10 or a 64 would be fine 38 special that I would love to have one and I might get one in January if I dont I will get a Ruger 10-22 or something I am in need for a .22LR caliber gun.Because not only is the S&W Model 10/64 aethetically beautiful it functions and shoots great because I shot one as a rental gun and had alot of fun with it.
Dream Handgun is a Sig Sauer pistol
Dream revolver is S&W Model 10

Custom Linebaugh, Bisley 5-shot single action in .475 Liney, stainless w/scope base, rings and a 2.5-8x Leupy. That should leave about 25 bucks toward Hornady ammo.

I'd like a few:

Either one of these. BFR or Ruger with presentation blue job, in .500JRH.

Custom snubbie by Jack Huntington, 500S&@. I'd fill it with .500JRH and enjoy carrying it, for anything.

FA 83, polished, and done by a gunsmith at JRH Advanced Gunsmithing for his son, in 454.
My obsession with carry guns is due to having these already:

Ruger 500 Maximum, custom by Jack Huntington.

252, hyper accurate FA 83.
FA 83, match grade accurate in .475 Linebaugh, by Jack Huntington. One of two he did prior to FA starting to do it themselves. Target chambers and barrel, and custom grips on the guns, for my hands.
I'd also like a CCO, Detonics short barreled and long barrels. Dan Wesson bob tail, any Ed Brown, or Wilson Combat.
And, I'd love to have this .500JRH:

"dream handgun"??????

Shouldn't the FIRST and perhaps the ONLY "dream" now be that the US Supreme Court NOT deny individual gun ownership????? Maybe the problem is too much "dreams" and a refusal or inability to confront REALITY.

The John Wayne commemorative New Vaquero is only about $1000-$1050. Really nice sixguns for the money.

I've been thinking about saving up for what would amount to a dream gun. I would start with a Ruger Bisley. It would be converted to a five-shot .500Linebaugh or .500JRH. It would wear an octagon, damascus barrel 4 5/8"-4¾" long with a traditional browned finish and a custom post front sight. Preferably with an integral front sight base machined onto the barrel. Bowen's target rear sight. A bullseye or crescent ejector, possibly a Colt ejector housing. Grips could be TruIvory, ivory micarta or perhaps fancy French walnut. The grip frame would be decked for perfect grip fit. It would be engraved in a tradtional rose and scroll pattern somewhere between 20% and 50% coverage. Maybe Jim Stroh's half-cock conversion and straightened trigger. The frame, gate, hammer and trigger would be case colored by Turnbull, the remaining parts carbona blued. Maybe a #5 style basepin retention system and custom basepin. Very similar to Ross Seyfried's #13 .475, without the extensive topstrap rework.

It's worse then that. Only Reeder has frames for the maximum in production, and only the Reeder/BFR frame is really thick enough in the top strap area for really stupid, heavy loads.

The actual rights to that frame are owned by BFR, and, they are sitting on it, not producing the guns. It's too bad, since their big frame guns are too big, and, they only produce the regular frame length guns, otherwise.

While I have a Ruger Maximum in 500 MAX, it makes more sense to have a much stronger frame, designed for the higher volume of gases, and top strap cutting the 500 Max can put out.

Gary Reeder has always been cordial, and nice to me, but, I don't ask him stupid questions, either.

That would be nice. Too bad they're post-86 and you must be a class 3 or LE agency to buy one.

Maybe Heller will help change that for all of us "common folk."
