Which 30.06 dies do i need
I'm looking at new RCBS dies, one says FL dies, the other says small base FL dies. What are small base and do I need them? I want to be able to convert .270, 25.06, etc. to 30.06. Which dies do I need?

If your shooting a semi auto you may need small base dies. They size the case down a bit more than full lenth dies do. Full length dies will work fine for bolt actions and levers. They even work flawlessly in my Remington semi autos.

Small base dies are not needed.
If dies are full length sizing dies, this means they size the case to original factory standards and will chamber in any gun that accepts factory ammunition. Small based dies are only required if the sizing die is worn out or the die is defective. It takes many 10’s of thousands of rounds to wear out a sizing die.
I believe Lee dies are the best value for your money. Try Lee's RGB dies they come with a satisfaction guarantee with exchange privilage for any brand you desire. Can't beat that. They cost about half of other brands. Check their website. www.leeprecision.com |

Any particular reason you want to "convert" the .270, 25'06 rather that using the already correct 30'06?
