Is it OK to fire a

Winchester 1200 without the magazine spring retainer?

Sure, I lost mine and just keep the spring in with the magazine-tube cap. Just be careful when you take it off or it will be like a snake-in-a-can.

no problem what soever just be careful removing the cap or the spring may hit ya in the eye
