Best JHP ammo for Glock 26

I bought my first gun the other day...a Glock 26. I put over 200 rounds of regular ball ammo through it to break it in. Please don't ask about accuracy. The target died.

When I was ready to leave, I picked up a box of Federal 135 Grain Hydra Shok ammo. I didn't realize it said low recoil on the front until I got home. Has anybody ever used these before? Anyone with any other suggestions?

I don't know what the "best" is but one I use and like in 9mm is the Speer 124gr Gold Dot +P.

Those Federal 135 gr you picked up are kinda slow, I think 1050 fps, 350ftlbs at the muzzle. Try some Buffalo Bore 115gr +p+. 1400 fps, 500ftlbs.

Whatever you choose make sure to shoot them to make sure they feed well before you rely on them. The G26 is a very reliable pistol but spending the extra is worth the peace of mind.

I personally like the Winchester Ranger T and Remington Golden Saber 147 grainers even out of this relatively short barrel. The various +P rounds from Speer Gold Dot, Federal HST, and Ranger T are good as well.

I prefer MagSafe ammo. every round is hand made so it is expensive but I have seen demonstrations with it and it is amazing.

this guy shot through a door into ballistics gel and the bullet held shape through the door and did not start expanding until it hit the gel. but it would not pass through 2 sheets of drywall making it safe to use in the family home.

My G26 likes the Hydra-Shoks.

As well as the Winchester "Silver Tips" for accuracy. Right now at this very moment (hold on, I want to go double check) my G26 is loaded with Federal Hydra-Shoks in the stock magazine, and as my backup magazine (a G17 mag w/ A&G spacer) is also.;-)

If it shoots like my Glock 9mm buy the cheapest ammo with a bunch of extra magazines. I may not hit it the first time but on my third mag they better watch out. I like the reliability of my Glock but I think my 12 ga groups tighter with #6 shot

When all those stray rounds do hit something other than your intended target, be prepared for a lawsuit.

My G26 is loaded up with 135gr. Hydras right now. If I ever have to use my G26 in s.d., I'll let you know how they perform!
